I was very impressed with the quality of the CUBO 40 fibreglass planter from www.planters-online.co.uk. I chose the matt anthracite grey colour as this is a colour often requested by my clients. This colour and shape works particularly well in an urban contemporary garden setting and with modern extensions which often have anthracite doors and window frames.
The matt fibreglass and resin finish has a very high quality, smooth feel to it and the paint work was flawless, with no scratches or chips. I am always looking to source high quality reasonably priced planters for my clients at a reasonable price and at just under £59 (including taxes and delivery) these planters really fit the bill. The fibreglass material is weather, frost and UV proof and should last for many seasons to come. They are also lightweight which is ideal for roof terraces where weight is an important consideration.
This size of planters is great for planting medium sized shrubs and small trees which can really make a huge difference to a planting scheme, adding height and maturity. Great small trees for containers include Olea Europea (Olive), Acers or Amelanchier, all of which provide all year interest with changing colours, fruits or flowers. Alternatively, a fountain of ornamental grass such a Miscanthus sinensis ‘Morning Light’ can look striking in a large planter.
These versatile planters can be used inside and outside. They don’t have a drainage holes so if using outside holes would need to be drilled in the bottom of the planter to prevent waterlogging of plants.
The planter was securely packaged with polystyrene corners and wrap ensuring that the planter arrived in perfect condition. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this planter to any garden designers or their clients looking for a stylish and well-made container for their outside spaces.
