Fibreglass is a type of fibre-reinforced plastic which is widely and well used. The glass-fibres can be randomly arranged, flattened into a sheet or woven into a fabric. The glass-fires are then drenched with synthetic resin such as epoxy or polyester resin. Fibreglass is more flexible than carbon-fibres and even stronger and more stable than many metals. Furthermore, it can easily be molded into complex shapes. Fibreglass is also known as glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) or glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP).
